The Turkish religious affairs administration announced on 20 March 2020 that all mosques will not be open for community prays like Friday prayers and asked people to pray at home. Turkish health minister Fahrettin Koca on 20 March 2020 said that there are 670 confirmed cases of the coronavirus and 9 related deaths. Turkey decided to halt public events, temporarily shut down schools and suspend sporting events in an attempt to prevent further spreading of coronavirus COVID-19.
